Recipes From Secrets of Healthy Cooking
Most of us are active with work and play and want to eat well, but living a busy life and achieving a healthy diet can be a daunting feat.
Take a look at these easy recipes that are not only healthy for the body & mind, but also taste great too!
How To Make Pizza Dough
Mix yeast in tepid water. Let stand 5-10 minutes until foamy.
Set up food processor with steel blade. Pour flour & salt into food processor. Pulse 2-3 times to mix well.
Add yeast mixture and process until a ball forms inside the work bowl. Add 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil. Process 2 minutes. Dough should not be sticky. If it is, add more flour 1/4 cup at a time.
Remove dough from work bowl & place on work surface that is lightly sprinkled with flour. Knead 3-5 minutes until dough is soft. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl and turn to coat all sides. Cover with plastic wrap and set in a warm place to rise. Dough should double in size within 1 or 2 hours.
Punch down & let rest for 10 minutes. Dough can also be given a second one hour rise for an even lighter pizza crust.
To avoid sticking, lightly sprinkle pan with cornmeal or parchment paper. If using a pizza peel to transfer to stone, stretch dough to desired size.
